The Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs held its annual Holiday Poker Classic between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This had a good turnout for the various events with 570 entries overall.
Here’s a recap of the undercard events: Joshua Todd won the $125 no-limit hold’em “Fat Stack” event, beating 94 players to earn $2,762. The $150 bounty event had 161 entrants and ended in a six-way chop. The $200 pot-limit Omaha triple-chance had 48 entries and went to Bradley Sullivan ($2,968). There was also a $200 O/8 event with 62 entries, ending in a chop between Duster Ellis and Travis Lavine. The $350 NLHE event had 97 entries and Jerry Moore earned the most money in the chop ($7,513) leaving the other three players a little less than $5K each.
The main event, which had almost 100 players, also ended in a chop as Peter Campo and Paul Douglas each took home almost $16K.
The Horseshoe has announced a special $125 Presidents Day special tournament for Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. Also running during February will be satellites for the World Series of Poker Circuit event. The dates for the WSOPC are April 10-21. This is always a good event with strong attendance so book your room early for this one.
