The Heartland Poker Tour returns to River City Casino on Nov. 1-11. This has become a twice-a-year stop for the tour, but new for this stop is the addition of the 200-room hotel on site. Special room rates are available so contact the poker room for details. There will be 44 tables for tournament and cash-game play.

Tony Russo will be stepping in as tournament director as Anthony Chester, the ex-tournament director, now is solely working for Lumiere Place’s poker room.

“Anthony did a lot to make these tournaments run so smoothly and provided great training for the dealers,” Russo said. “Anthony deserves credit for our success. Traveling dealers have applied in record numbers to deal these events because they love this stop. We are very proud that, other than extra dealers, we haven’t hired outside staff to run these tournaments.”

The HPT events at this stop will all be no-limit hold’em. Each day has qualifiers for the main event, daily events and second-chance tournaments. Single-table satellites will run all week with buy-ins from $50-$360. Event 5 on Nov. 5 will feature the popular six-max format. The main event’s TV final table will be Nov. 11 and the public is invited to attend the taping.
