From Aug. 8-19, there will be 12 ring events ranging from $365 to a $1,675 main event with $500K guarantee at Foxwoods Resort Casino during the first stop of the 2013-14 World Series of Poker Circuit.
The stop, which sports a million dollars in guarantees, kicks off with the usual $365 no-limit hold’em ring event, and includes Omaha/8, a seniors event, a six-max and daily deepstack tournaments and main-event satellites. Also, $580 buy-in events with healthy guarantees have been added for this prestigious event.

MEGA STACK: The $1,200 main event of June’s Spring into Summer Mega Madness series at Foxwoods ended in a three-way chop, with Peter Giannitti of Wethersfield, Conn., earning $43,729 and the trophy for the title. The main event attracted 228 entrants for a $241,064 prize pool.
Michael Orgettas of Salem, Mass., was runner-up ($34K) while Jeff Giordano of St. James, N.Y., finished third for $32K. Full results can be found at foxwoods.com.
MOHEGAN SUN: Depending on when you see this issue, there may still be time for you to enter the Mohegan Sun’s $235K Summer Showdown series, which returns until Aug. 4, complete with a $100K guarantee $1,100 main event.
The Showdown includes seven featured NLHE events, with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $550. Step 1 ($75) and Step 2 ($260) satellites to the main event begin July 31. Registrations can be made online at pokertickets.com.
EASTERN POKER TOUR: Emilio Tulipano (Attleboro, Mass.), Oswald Garlington (Providence), Ken Sinkiewicz (South Boston) and Michael Stracco (Hanover, Mass.) made their way through a field of more than 200 players to win a WSOP main-event seat. The $400 satellite doubled in size from last year, with players coming from all over New England to play the deepstack event. SENECA NIAGARA: With daily cash giveaways and a slate of terrific low buy-in tournaments, Seneca’s poker room turned up the heat and excitement in late July. The Summer Slam, which runs July 30-Aug. 4, will feature a $600 deepstack main event on Aug. 3, with scheduled $66 multitable qualifiers, as well as $200 and $300 deepstack tournaments. All tournaments are re-entry with full stacks.
