Well, the World Series of Poker is over, for the most part. Do you need the opportunity to get those bad beats out of your system? Then the annual Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino is the place to be. Beginning July 28, with buy-ins ranging from $70 to $3,700, the series is anchored by the hugely successful Bicycle Mega Millions VII and the World Poker Tour main event.

With 30 events, more than $2.25 million in guarantees and 66 starting flights over five weeks, there’s something for everyone. There are six events with multiple starting flights, most notable being the re-entry Mega Millions that has 22 starting flights running daily at 1 and 6 p.m, between Aug. 2-12. The winner of the Mega Millions will earn $200K as the event has a $1 million guarantee. Oh, and the buy-in is only $160. How could you not play in this?

The main event, which will be a WPT-televised stop, is sporting a $3 million estimated prize pool. It features three Day 1s (Aug. 29-31) and if you’re eliminated in any of the Day 1s you can re-enter the next day. Buy-in is $3,700.
For hold’em specialists, formats include LHE, six-handed, bounty, shootout, turbo and a $345 survivor that works similar to a satellite where the top 10 percent all make $3K.

Non-hold’em players shouldn’t feel left out, however. If pot-limit Omaha and rebuys get you energized, there’s PLO with rebuys on Aug. 13 and PLO/8 with rebuys Aug. 14. Event 25 on Aug. 28 is badugi/2-7 triple draw/baduci. You could play Omaha 8-Stud/8 on Aug. 15 or try the three-starting-day-$100K guarantee Omaha/8 event on Aug 21. Of course, no series today would be complete without an Open Face Chinese Poker event. Get your OFCP fix in the $1,100 event Sept. 2.

Please see the Bicycle Casino’s ad in our August issue for the schedule of events and information.

HAWAIIAN GARDENS: The Gardens Casino’s $100K guarantee tournament has five starting flights July 29-31 and the buy-in is a mere $115. You start with 5K chips and there’s an optional $10 add-on for another 3K chips. There’s also one $100 optional rebuy that will get you 8K chips.

The top-two chipleaders from each flight will win $500 each. Satellites for this event begin July 27 and the finals will be Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. For more details, be sure to contact the poker room.
