Jared "The Waco Kidd" Hamby impressively parlayed his final table short stack into a comeback of a gold bracelet victory Monday night at the 44th Annual World Series of Poker. Hamby’s win came in Event 40, a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament, and he collected $525,272 in prize money.

Hamby is best known for his online success as one of the original pioneers of the then-relatively-unknown phenomenon of internet poker. He made quite a name for himself, amassing six figures worth of career earnings on the online felt, but his live resume is nothing to shake a stick at either.

Hamby’s most recent score marks his 19th WSOP cash and third final table appearance. The first place prize money boosts his career earnings at the WSOP to just under $1 million. He is a 31-year-old professional poker player from Elkhart, Ind.

This $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event drew a field of 2,161 and generated a prize pool of $2,917,350. The top 243 finishers each earned a payday of at least $2,625. Some of the recognizable names who made the money but missed the final table were Matt Salsberg (168th), David Sklansky (157th), JC Tran (114th), Andrew Lichtenberger (57th), Kara Scott (17th) and Allen Cunningham, who bubbled the final table in tenth place.

The final table featured no previous bracelet winners, but had two players who have made final tables already this summer, Matt Berkey (6th) and Hamby. Three-time Circuit ring winner David Nicholson kept up the strong showing of Circuit players by taking ninth place.

South America was exceptionally well-represented at this final table by Richard Dubini (7th) of Argentina, Joao Dorneles Neto of Brazil (5th) and Nicolas Fiero (4th) of Chile. Each of these players drew a large and exuberant rail of supporters.

Here are the final table results from the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Event 40:
