The Horseshoe Poker Classic has been announced at the Horseshoe in Council Bluffs. This is scheduled to run Aug. 20-26. Here are some highlights from the schedule: $250 no-limit hold’em, $150 NLHE bounty, $200 Omaha/8, $550 NLHE and the $1K main event. Look for more details here in our August issue. I visited this great room in December for the Holiday Classic and had a great time. I recommend the nice room, which has a great attentive staff.
MESKWAKI: The casino in Tama will host the $300K guarantee Mid-States Poker Tour July 26, with satellites running throughout the weekends and July and daily starting July 20. You can win a seat for as little as $60.
Also, beginning July 6, there will be satellites for the MSPT’s next stop in Larchwood, Iowa, at the Grand Falls Casino Resort. These satellites, just like at Meskwaki, will run on the weekends and the week before the main event, which will be Aug 16-18.
MYSTIQUE: There are rumblings at Mystique in Dubuque of something big coming in September for the poker community. Players could get the chance to play with some interesting people. Details are still coming together but check back next issue for more details.
