Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino in Wendover, Nev., will award two packages to the Oct. 20 Ante Up Poker Cruise during its Wendover Nugget Texas Hold’em Poker Championship event Aug. 1-4.
The poker series will begin on Aug. 1, with freeroll tournaments at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. for players who have logged at least one hour of live play from June 1-July 31. At 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Aug. 2, $50 buy-in tournaments will be held. At 1 p.m. on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4, $30 satellite tournaments will be held for the championship events.
Championship events will be at 8 p.m. on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4. Buy-in is $100. Winner of each tournament gets a $2,500 Ante Up Cruise package, which includes an inside stateroom for two on the Oct. 20-27 Ante Up Poker Cruise out of Cape Liberty, N.J., sailing to Bermuda. The balance of the package will be applied to airfare for the winners and on-board poker room credit.
The Ante Up Poker Cruise features a professionally run and equipped poker room aboard regularly scheduled Royal Caribbean cruises. Each cruise features cash games, multi-table tournaments, single-table tournaments, free poker classes and an open-bar cocktail party. Two cruises are left on the 2013 schedule – May 20 out of Miami, Fla., Oct. 20 out of the New York City metro area and Dec. 2 out of Tampa, Fla. Four cruises are planned for 2014, and details are expected to be announced before July 1.
