Blair Hinkle made history at Horseshoe Council Bluffs by becoming the first player to defend a World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event. He beat nearly 370 players on April 22, fighting through a field that included a few ring- and bracelet-winners.
He took home another circuit ring and $121,177. His older brother Grant, who has a WSOP bracelet, finished 11th.
It seemed the two couldn’t get away from each other through most of the tournament and were in several big pots with each other.
Some others who won rings include Mark Fink ($365 Turbo, $15,838), Nathan Bjerno ($580 NLHE), Matthew Weber ($365 six-max), Mark Bonsack, who won his second non-hold’em ring by taking down the Omaha/8 event, Randy Krauss ($365 NLHE, $14,505), Jason Mayfield ($365 NLHE, $14,505), Zach Smith (re-entry, $35,397), Jovan Sudar ($365 Turbo) and Nick Jivkov, who became a three-time winner of WSOPC events when he took down the first $365 NLHE tournament on April 12.
