On Thursday, Amaya Gaming Group Inc. and Aristocrat Technologies Inc. announced a partnership that will see Aristocrat offer Amaya’s Ongame poker network platform to online gaming customers in the U.S.
Amaya purchased Ongame from bwin.party digital entertainment last October to bolster its product portfolio. The Ongame poker platform will be accessible via Aristocrat’s nLive online gaming solution, which offers land-based operators a turnkey method of providing customers with a virtual online casino.
The platform is available immediately for free-to-play games and can instantly be switched over to real-money use once regulatory approvals are in place.
"Aristocrat and Amaya share a common vision of integrating land-based gaming with online gaming," said David Baazov, CEO of Amaya Gaming Group Inc. "Integrating our online poker offering into the Aristocrat nLive platform opens up a wide range of new opportunities in the United States. This is a strategic relationship in the most promising market in the world."
Amaya Gaming released its fourth-quarter financial results for 2012 on Thursday. The firm’s overall revenues for the year improved by nearly 316 percent year-on-year to $75.88 million. However, Amaya posted an overall loss for 2012 of $7.05 million.
Baazov said the past year has been a transitional phase for Amaya, and ultimately its recent business-to-business acquisitions of Ongame and Cryptologic will provide major growth for the firm in the U.S in the future.
“Looking ahead, we are focused on extending our footprint including through strategic partnerships in the United States where the regulation of online gaming continues to evolve," Baazov said. "Three states including New Jersey and Nevada have recently legalized online gaming and other states have tabled legislation that would do the same."
