Ante Up Midwest Championship: Event #8 recap

John "PokerGeekMN" Somsky, Ante Up’s Minnesota Ambassador, has won Event #8 ($50 no-limit hold’em with rebuys) in the Ante Up Midwest Championship, an Ante Up Poker Tour event at Running Aces Harness Park near Minneapolis, Minn.

Somsky bested 33 other players for the top prize of $1,841. Also, four players advanced to Day 2 of the main event in the first of three Day 1s.

Day 1B of the $1,100 main event begins at 6 p.m. today, with $250 main event satellites at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Top 10 cashers in all Ante Up Midwest Championship event earn Ante Up Player of the Year points, and the champion of the main event wins a personalized Ante Up tour champion jacket, a bracelet from Pro Poker Gear and will be featured on the cover of the June issue of Ante Up Magazine.
