Omaha fever hits Presque Isle Casino in Erie

Presque Isle Downs poker room in Erie, Pa., recently began featuring Omaha/8 tournaments twice a month (every other week on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.). The buy-in is $75 and you start with 5,000 chips and 20-minute levels. There will be a 10-player minimum and a 90-player max. For the inaugural tourney on Feb. 14, an impressive 45 players showed up to participate.

Deepstack events are twice a month on Fridays at 7:30. These $125 tournaments start with 10K chips and have 20-minute blinds. Super Saturdays take place the last Saturday of the month and feature a $225 buy-in with 30-minute blinds, 10K chips.

Finally, the bad-beat jackpot for the room was closing in on $100K and at press time ($97,619).
