Walt Strakowski Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla., will be the on-board poker professional for the May 2013 Ante Up Cruise.
Strakowski was Ante Up’s Player of the Year in 2010 and specializes in single-table tournaments with a 8-% cash rate during a recent major tournament series. He’ll teach a free 2-hour single-table tournament strategy class on the cruise, which will spotlight single-table tournaments. Strakowski will also be available the entire cruise for individual and small-group advanced training for an additional fee.
Strakowski has nearly a dozen cashes in major tournaments in Florida, Mississippi, Nevada and California, has made two World Series of Poker Circuit final tables, cashed in a World Series of Poker bracelet event and, most recently, made the final table of the main event of the inaugural Ante Up Poker Tour event – the Ante Up NorCal Classic.
The Ante Up Poker Cruise features a professionally run and equipped poker room aboard regularly scheduled Royal Caribbean cruises. Each cruise features cash games, multi-table tournaments, single-table tournaments, free poker classes and an open-bar cocktail party. Four are scheduled for 2013 – Feb. 4 out of Port Canaveral, Fla., May 20 out of Miami, Fla., Oct. 20 out of the New York City metro area and Dec. 2 out of Tampa, Fla.
