The Horseshoe in Council Bluffs will run its Holiday Poker Classic on Dec. 26-30, including a $235 no-limit hold’em re-entry event on the 26th, a main-event satellite on the 28th and the $560 NLHE re-entry main event runs Dec. 29-30. This event will run two Day 1 flights (10 a.m., 6 p.m.). Also, the Horseshoe is qualifying one person a month for a 2013 World Series of Poker satellite that will run in June. The first of these qualifiers was Stan Schrier, who won the TOC Freeroll in October. Check with the poker room for more details on how you can qualify.
HPT PRAIRIE MEADOWS: The Heartland Poker Tour stopped at Prairie Meadows at the end of October, and 2004 WSOP main event champion Greg Raymer continued on his roll, winning first place and $72,089 for his third HPT victory this year (Albuquerque and St. Louis). Chad Lawson, a local player from Pleasant Hill, Iowa, won $41,771 as runner-up. Lawson had a much better ROI than Raymer, however. He earned his seat in a $300 satellite while Raymer had to fire five times in this rebuy event.
MSPT: Meskwaki Casino’s Mid-States Poker Tour drew 297 players competing for the $300K pool. Mike Reynolds of Chicago took top honors ($81,060) after five hours at the final table.
