The 44th Annual World Series of Poker will kick off on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, according to WSOP.com. WSOP officials have not released the schedule of events, but they have confirmed that the 2013 WSOP will run for 49 days and end on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 when the final table of the Main Event is reached.
Speaking of the Main Event, it will be held over 10 consecutive days from July 7 through July 16, 2013, and feature three starting flights on July 7, 8 and 9.
Last year, 74,766 participants turned out for the 61 bracelet events and competed for more than $222 million in prize pool money — the largest in the WSOP’s 43-year history. Nearly 500 tables will be used for the 2013 WSOP as organizers look to host an even larger crowd. Furthermore, cash games will begin on May 29 and run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Even though the schedule of events has not been finalized, the WSOP says players can expect "around 60 gold bracelet events and a similar schedule as years past." The staple events — seniors, ladies, casino employees, and a charity tournament — as well as the no-limit hold’em weekend events will all be part of the schedule.
PokerNews will bring you the schedule of events in its entirety when it becomes available.
