John Dolan takes over lead in Ante Up POY race

John Dolan of Biloxi, Miss., has taken over the lead in the race for Ante Up’s 2012 Player of the Year.

Dolan took eighth in the $3,000-buy-in World Poker Open main event at Gold Strike Resort in Tunica, Miss., to add to his point total. Galen Kester of Tunica, Miss., earned $165,000 for winning the 158-player event that began Aug. 3.

Dolan earned 198.97 Ante Up POY points for a total of 1,485 to oust Abraham Araya of Carrollton, Texas, from the top spot, where he has been since the season’s third event. It was Dolan’s third points cash of the season.
