WPT Boot Camp to visit Presque Isle Downs

Presque Isle Downs in Erie hosts the World Poker Tour Boot Camp and Battle tournament this month. The boot camp provides training with poker pros to prepare you for real poker situations. Chris Moneymaker will be on hand as an instructor for the event on July 13 at 10 a.m. The $350 entry fee includes:
• Personalized training for 40 camp attendees
• Three 90-minute seminars on poker strategy
• Manual/workbook
• Lunch and beverage
• Entry into WPT Battle tournament at 4 p.m. (worth $135)
Space is limited for the tournament (50) and $50 satellites into the camp will run July 9-12.

NEW ROOM, NEW VIEW: Mount Airy Casino Resort, which revealed its new poker room earlier this year, maintains the same number of poker tables as before (11) but offers players more space, a bar and views of the Monroe County resort’s lake.

DEEPSTACK EVENT: Rivers Casino offers Deepstack Saturdays tournaments at 12:15 p.m. ($225), but on the last Saturday of the month the buy-in is $550.

PENNSYLVANIA POKER CLASSIC: Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs hosts the series July 22-29, with the $1,100 main event beginning on July 28. Players start with 30K chips and have 50-minute blinds levels.

There will be a series of events, including a deepstack and a hold’em-PLO mix, leading up to the championship, including single-table satellites. For more information, go to poconodowns.com.
