Reno is one of the few places in the country where you can find a stud game. The Eldorado has a $1-$5 spread-limit stud game (no antes) that runs almost every day and has been for years. The Eldorado recently gained some business with the closing of the Harrah’s and Circus Circus poker rooms. Eldorado also runs $1-$2 no-limit and $3-$6 limit games.
Mike Gainey’s Chop Pot Classic recently offered players another chance to play mixed games, including Omaha, stud and crazy pineapple. Also, the Grand Sierra ran its Pot of Gold where a mixed game usually breaks out. The results from both can be below.
If you’re looking for something other than hold’em, Reno-Tahoe is one place where other games are still alive.
