The Mid-States Poker Tour returns to Meskwaki Casino in Tama, this month, hoping to repeat the success of its March event, which surpassed its $300K guarantee. The main event, which again has a $300K guarantee, will run July 27-29, with frequent satellites (some as low as $45) running ahead of time. If tournaments aren’t your style, cash-game action is strong at Meskwaki during these events, and new poker room manager Joe Fernandez is certain to have many new ideas for the room.
MYSTIQUE CASINO: The poker room in Dubuque hosts its $220 tournament July 21, followed by a $155 event the next day.
Also, the $5-$10 no-limit hold’em cash game mentioned here a few months ago has become a regular thing, running about once a month. Look for this game on July 14 at 1 p.m.
Call ahead and get on the list if you’re interested in playing. There’s also a strong $2-$5 game on Wednesday nights starting at 6 p.m.
