Studz Poker Club at Calder Casino & Race Course will host the Miami Gardens Poker Classic, a six-event tournament series featuring more than $200,000 in guarantees Feb. 3-12.

“We continually listen to our players and offer the types of tournaments that they want,” said Chris Trabue, director of poker for Studz Poker Club. “After many successful events, we’re eager and excited to have our first tournament series.”

Coming up this month, Studz will host a $50,000 guarantee Dec. 2-4. The headline event features two buy-in days on (Dec. 2 and 3) each at 11 a.m. The buy-in is $550, and players who are eliminated on Friday can rebuy on Saturday on for a chance at a guaranteed minimum $50K prize pool. The top players from Friday and Saturday will reconvene on Sunday at 1 p.m. to finish the tournament. The tournament also has a deepstack blind structure that Studz developed based on player feedback.

“South Florida is a unique market when it comes to poker, so with the feedback from our players, we built a custom format that makes for a great tournament” said Trabue. “We’ll also be open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday Dec. 2-3. Depending on the popularity, it’s something we’re looking at continuing in 2012.
