Jerry Yang to kick off WPT Jax festivities Nov. 10

Jacksonville Greyhound Racing and Poker has announced 2007 WSOP Main Event champion Jerry Yang will kick off the festivities for its second WPT series, running Nov. 11–2. Yang will appear at the Orange Park location for a book signing on Nov. 10; he will also participate in Event 1 on Nov. 11, giving poker players the chance to play with a world champion in a $340 event.

Jerry’s book, All In, tells the incredible journey of his life – from the killing fields of Southeast Asia to a Thai refugee camp to his surreal victory and capture of poker’s most prestigious honor. Yang will be signing autographed copies for and taking photos with his fans from 4-7 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to have Jerry come to Jacksonville,” said Deb Giardina, Jacksonville’s executive director of poker. “His reputation as one of the greatest ambassador’s to poker mirrors our plan to elevate our rooms’ reputations to the top of the industry.”

Jerry is well known for his charitable endeavors and has pledged a percentage of his poker earnings from his stay in Jacksonville to the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House.

Jacksonville also will be running yet another high stakes cash game featuring Matt Glantz and other world class players Nov. 17, demonstrating their ability to cater to the entire poker spectrum, from $300 tournament players to $100,000 cash game specialists.
