NFL greats slated for May 6 charity event in Immokalee (Fla.)

Former NFL fullback Fred McCrary will host a Texas Hold’em tournament on May 6 at Seminole Casino in Immokalee, Fla., as part of the sixth annual poker and golf fundraiser that benefits his 44 Ways Foundation for underprivileged local children. Many current and former NFL players, including Terrell Buckley (Dolphins/Packers/Patriots), Earnest Graham (Tampa Bay Bucs/Gators), Corey Ivy (Tampa Bay Bucs), Winfred Tubbs (49ers) Victor Green (Jets), Mike Vanderjagt (Colts/Cowboys), Chris Doleman (Vikings/Falcons 49ers) and former NBA player and coach, Sam Mitchell are expected to attend. Other pro athletes will be on hand to play poker, sign autographs, and pose for photos with fans.

This event, which begins at 7 p.m., is open to the public. Players can sign up in the casino’s poker room any time before the tournament. Or call 800-218-0007 for more information.

Buy-in is $75, plus $75 charity re-buy. Must be at least 18 years old to play.
