The inaugural World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown begins Friday (April 8) and runs until May 2. This event series will be capped off with the first $10K WPT main event in Florida and is the only WPT U.S. main event that allows entry to anyone 18 or older.
The televised main event April 27-May 2 is expected to draw the world’s top poker talent. The winner receives his or her share of what is anticipated to be a huge prize pool, a trophy, a WPT bracelet, a $25,000 buy-in to the WPT World Championship at Bellagio in Las Vegas this May and all the prestige associated with being the newest WPT champion.
Audience seating for the main event final table is open to the public. Free tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To attend the WPT final table taping, please arrive at Hard Rock Live by 3 p.m. on May 2. WPT Season IX airs Sundays at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Fox Sports Net.
The thirty-four event series will take place in the Paradise Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla.
On-site registration for the WPT Showdown main event is open before the start of play on Day 1, Wednesday April 27 and will remain open through the end of Level 5 and on Day 2, April 28. (Registration fee is non-refundable.) To participate, players must obtain a free “Wild Card” at the Player’s Club or in The Poker Room at Seminole Paradise.
